what should I know about Marriott Bonvoy?

citizenM is an innovative lifestyle hotel brand founded by Rattan Chadha in 2008 and acquired by Marriott International in July 2025. The brand is known for its tech-controlled bedrooms, art-filled living rooms, and design-led experience. citizenM disrupted the traditional hotel model to give modern travellers what they want – high-quality stays in prime city locations without a sky-high price tag. 

Marriott Bonvoy is Marriott International’s loyalty program, giving members points for hotel stays, travel and purchases. Points can be redeemed for free nights, upgrades, and experiences. Members enjoy tiered benefits like late check-out and room upgrades, with elite status earned through frequent stays and spending.

Yes. When citizenM properties become available for booking on Marriott’s robust digital platforms (including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy Mobile App), members of both programs (mycitizenM+ and Marriott Bonvoy) will be able to earn, redeem and enjoy Marriott Bonvoy benefits according to their member status. citizenM hotels will be added to Marriott’s platforms in phases throughout the last months of the year.

mycitizenM+ is a paid annual subscription-based programme from citizenM that gives members exclusive perks and savings at citizenM hotels.

The current membership fee is 120 USD for one year. On 28 October, the annual fee will rise to 170 USD and will include additional member benefits (see question 7).

mycitizenM+ membership is here to stay. Members can continue enjoying the perks they’ve always had, and now they get new benefits through Marriott Bonvoy. See more about this on the membership page.

When a mycitizenM+ member chooses to stay at a citizenM hotel, they enjoy these perks:

• 15% off when booking direct

• up to 30% off during sales

• 15% off food and drinks (except breakfast)

• 15% off societyM meeting rooms

• free co-working (except in Taipei)

• Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status benefits (see question 11)

Your trial continues as usual. As part of Marriott Bonvoy, you’ll link your trial mycitizenM+ account to a Marriott Bonvoy account and receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status for the remainder of your trial. If you choose to continue with a paid membership after your trial ends, your member access to citizenM perks and Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite benefits will continue uninterrupted.

As soon as citizenM is fully integrated into Marriott systems. We’ll confirm the exact launch date in advance.

mycitizenM+ members will receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.

When citizenM hotels become bookable via Marriott channels, Marriott Bonvoy members enjoy the following benefits at citizenM hotel stays:

Yes. Once integration is complete, all eligible citizenM stays made with a Marriott Bonvoy account will earn Marriott Bonvoy points. You can earn Marriott Bonvoy points on citizenM hotel stays by adding your Marriott Bonvoy account number to your reservation. You can do this at check-in. If you are a mycitizenM+ subscriber, see question 17 to continue receiving your subscription perks as well as your Marriott Bonvoy member benefits after citizenM joins Marriott Bonvoy.

Past stays cannot be credited. Points are awarded after a completed stay, so if a hotel appears on the Marriott website at the time of check-out, you’re in luck (get those points!).

Members earn 10 Marriott Bonvoy Points per $1 USD and 1 Elite Night Credit per Qualifying Night.

Yes. Once all citizenM hotels are bookable with Marriott channels, points can be redeemed for stays at eligible citizenM hotels.

1. Link your mycitizenM+ account with a Marriott Bonvoy account. To do this, log in to your mycitizenM+ account, go to your dashboard, select ‘membership’, and follow the instructions for linking to Marriott Bonvoy. 

2. Once all citizenM hotels are on Marriott.com website and App, all citizenM hotels will be visible and bookable via Marriott.com, the Marriott Bonvoy Mobile App and other Marriott booking channels. You can add your Marriott Bonvoy Account to a reservation by following these instructions, or contact the Marriott Reservations team in your region for help.

Log into your citizenM account and go to your dashboard. Select membership and find the option to link your mycitizenM+ account with Marriott Bonvoy. Follow the easy-peasy linking instructions – and voilá! 

Without linking the accounts, you won’t get the discounted membership rates for citizenM stays booked via Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy App. As long as your membership is in good standing, you can keep using the other perks (like free co-working, 15% off food and drink and 15% off meeting rooms).

You can still manage your membership by logging into www.citizenm.com and going to the ‘membership’ section in your user dashboard as usual. Soon, you will be able to use a dedicated mycitizenM+ website.

You can cancel your membership by logging into www.citizenm.com/my/membership.  Please note, if you have bookings scheduled beyond your membership end date, they will be cancelled on the membership end date. All details will be confirmed in your cancellation email.

No. The citizenM app will be retired soon after all citizenM hotels are bookable via the Marriott channels. To continue viewing your citizenM reservations, you must add your Marriott Bonvoy account number to them by following these instructions. You can also contact the Marriott Reservations team in your region. All reservations will then be displayed on Marriott Bonvoy channels.

For now, you can still book citizenM hotel stays on the citizenM website and app. Soon, you will book hotels on Marriott.com, the Marriott Bonvoy® Mobile App and other Marriott booking channels. 

Yes. Eligible bookings and stays taking place before citizenM joins Marriott Bonvoy will receive current mycitizenM+ perks. As soon as a citizenM property is bookable on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy App, members with linked accounts will receive both mycitizenM+ perks and Marriott Bonvoy benefits. 

Your reservations remain active, but once the citizenM app goes away, you will not be able to view your booking on citizenM channels. After all citizenM hotels are bookable on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy App, you can add your Marriott Bonvoy Account to a reservation by following these instructions. You can also contact the Marriott Reservations team in your region for help.
